Yes. When you create a Topic or reply you are provided with the opportunity to receive notifications via email. If you would like to monitor a Topic via email that you have not posted to, then use the 'Watch this Topic' facility available at the beginning of each Topic. To receive notifications via email you must provide an email address, if you have not done this you can add (or edit) an email address using the 'My details' page.

No. But you can edit your post by clicking on the 'Edit' button below the post content (visible if you are logged in) and remove the message content. Note: Forum managers can delete posts completely.
