    Hi everyone

A nurse has asked the CancerNursing.org team to post the following appeal for information - we would be really grateful for any help:

"Synovial Chondromatosis is a disease affecting the synovium, a thin flexible membrane around a joint. In the disease, the thin flexible membrane of the synovium gradually forms blisters which calcify and enlarge. These nodules eventually break free and float around the joint space becoming larger – these add to the discomfort and stiffness of the joint. I am aware it is a benign condition, but if recurrence appears it may become malignant. I am interested to know what the treatment of the condition would be if it became malignant. I know there is only a very small risk of this, but more for my nursing knowledge I would like to know the treatment options and plan for such cases.
I have not been able to find any such information on the internet."

    Best wishes

    Jenny
