    Hi everyone

Napp Pharmaceuticals Limited (in association with John Wiley & Sons, Inc), providers of an educational grant for the CancerNursing.org course 'Pain 3 - The Management of Pain', have recently launched a new website that will be of much interest to nurses.

'Challenge Pain' (http://www.challengepain.com/) is an excellent resource for nurses to update their practice and meet their continuing professional development (CPD) requirements. The new and expanding roles of nurses working in the area of acute and chronic pain mean that there is an increased need for CPD of a high standard. Restrictions surrounding the prescription of controlled drugs by nurses are soon to be lifted, which therefore makes Challenge Pain a very timely resource.

Challenge Pain reflects the principles of CPD by prompting nurses, at appropriate points during their study, to think of the practical, real-life implications of the Module content. Each Module also features a number of case studies to illustrate and provoke thought about the challenges nurses face in their role at the frontline of pain management. Keeping up-to-date with current information and abreast of new developments is crucial for practicing nurses. Not only is continual learning necessary to improve the professional offering of the nurse, it is key to maintaining professional competency and an integral part of clinical governance.

We hope you visit the site and that you find it useful.

    Best wishes

    Ray
