  1. Flushing naso-gastric tubes in neutropenic patients

Can anyone advise on their practice in relation to flushing a nasogastric tube following drug administration on a neutropenic patient. Do you use steril water or tap water? If it is sterile water, do your patients only drink sterile or cooled boiled water? If you are flushing with sterile water do you have any supporting evidence you could point me towards.
    thanks
