    Hi all

Maybe nothing 'new', but a BBC news article today highlighting the ever growing need for better cancer care in Europe:

  2. Hi
Am a little unsure as to what to think of this article. I do know that our oncologist treats everyone who wants to be treated, whether they are 20 or 90. However, there is always discussion with patient and family and ultimately if she believes she can improve their 'quality' then she is all for it. Regarding complications of the elderly, without the diagnosis of cancer, she consults with specialists in those fields.
Although most 90 year olds say No to treatment, it is not uncommon to be aggressively treating people in their 70's and 80's. Ultimately it is up to the patient and what the family can provide.
